The Jesus Question — operated by Tears & Oil ("we," "us," "our")

Effective date: October 22, 2026 · Last updated: October 22, 2026

1. The Short Version

The Jesus Question doesn't collect anything about you. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics — the app works completely offline, and everything you do in it stays on your phone.

We built it this way on purpose. The questions people bring here — about God, about Jesus, about what they believe — are deeply personal. Nobody should have to hand over their identity to ask them.

2. What We Collect

Nothing. No names, no email addresses, no phone numbers. No location, no contacts, no camera or microphone access. There are no analytics or advertising trackers in the app, and we never see what you read, save, or search for.

3. What Stays on Your Device

Your saved answers, your reading and journey progress, and your preferences live only on your phone, in the app's own storage. They are never uploaded, synced, or shared with us or anyone else. Delete the app, and it's all gone with it.

4. Notifications

If you turn on reminders — like a daily question or a gentle nudge for your reading plan — those are scheduled on your device alone. We never see them, and you can switch them off anytime in the app or your device settings.

5. Links, Sharing & Email

The app itself collects nothing, but a few actions you choose can take you outside it:

• Sharing: If you tap Share, your device's share sheet sends the answer using the app you pick. That app's privacy policy applies to what you send.

• Links: Some answers point to outside sources. Opening one takes you to that website in your browser, under that site's privacy policy.

• Email: If you write to us (for example, a prayer request), you do so from your own email app. We'll see your email address and what you send — nothing more — and we'll only use it to reply.

6. Children

Since the app collects nothing from anyone, that includes children. There are no accounts, chats, or social features of any kind.

7. Changes to This Policy

If this ever changes, we'll update this page with a new date. But the direction here will only ever be toward collecting less, not more.
